FAQ - Website Help -

Where do I start?
By contacting customer service. We can walk you through each step. Complete Interactive will create a website by talking with you and helping you lay out your website one step at a time.

How much will my site cost?
There are hundreds of variables that will affect the cost of your site, but what it comes down to is time and materials. Materials refer to professional photographs, copywriting, Java applets, site specific tools and things of this nature. The more time and/or materials it takes, the more your project will cost. We will work within any business budget.

Can I update my site myself?
If you're comfortable with making minor changes to your site we see no reason why you shouldn't. Of course, we'll give you a hand if you need help. The one thing we don't recommend is making major changes to your site yourself. We've seen many people ruin their sites in the process of trying to save a few dollars.

Do you re-design existing sites?
Yes. We enjoy breathing new life into an existing design. We will do a full evaluation of your current site and work closely with you to create a new site that conveys your company message.

What is a basic overview of the process from start to finish?
While the process varies slightly from project to project, we first define the scope of the project, propose solutions to the problems, produce the project, test it thoroughly, and then launch it. We then slip behind the scenes and maintain the site for you until updates or new work is needed. This process requires a great deal of work throughout, on both ends--yours and ours.

How long will it take to complete my project?
While every project differs in scope, typically we have a 14 to 60 day turnaround time. Factors that can affect this timeframe include such things as your availability and response time, as well as our current workload.

Subdomains

READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP A SUBDOMAIN!
To create a sub domain CPanel asks for the name you wish to use. MAKE SURE the subdomain name you give it doesn't have a folder already named that name. If it does the sub will not work. Example... I want to create the subdomain test.hostgator.com so my sub name is going to be test. If I already have a folder in my ftp named test I need to delete it or rename it to something different before I create the subdomain with the test name from CPanel.

What is a subdomain?
www.domain.com is a domain name. A subdomain is anything that replaces the www in a domain name. Example... forum.aol.com is a subdomain. www.forum.aol.com is not a subdomain.

Add-on Domains

What is an addon domain?
An addon domain is a fully functional domain that will work out of afolder in your main sites ftp.

READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP AN ADDON DOMAIN!
You cannot create an addon domain if your dns hasn't proprograted to the server already. So after you change the site's DNS you are trying to add you will need to wait 24-48 hours before attempting to create your addon domain.

There are three fields cpanel asks for when creating an addon domain.

1. "New Domain Name:" You will put in the newdomain.com DO NOT put www in the name!

2. "Username/directory/subdomain Name:" This will be the folder cpanel creates in your main account's ftp. MAKE SURE that the name you give it doesn't already have a folder. Example... If you want to give it the username chris, you cannot have a folder in your account named chris already. If you do and still try creating the username for the addon domain to be chris you will mess a lot of things up!!!

3. "Password:" Fill in any password you want here.

Help I added an addon domain why did it say subdomain added?!!?
It creates it as a subdomain by creating the folder within your mainsites ftp. Please ignore this! It is a fully functional domain name. It isonly called a subdomain when in fact it is an addon domain.
